HYGE® Crash Simulator & Upgrades
Includes Computerized Test Sequence Control with countdown to fire, photo light positioning and turn on/off, cameras start/stop, SquibFIRE control, DAS control, data downloading and analysis. The mechanical side includes new fluid storage/transfer that is computer controlled for HYGE® cylinder volume settings without parting the cylinders. Also features computer control of electrically operated nitrogen and air pressure setting valves.
A new addition to the HYGE® is the SmartSLED™ that features electronic control of acceleration pulse shapes from a disk-resident library of desired shapes. That's right, no pin changes required, plus an increased control bandwidth to 300Hz.
Multifunction Seat Test System
The Multi-Function Seat Test System allows single cycle, continuous duty, and load-deflection testing to be performed simultaneously on a number of test specimens. This test system is ideally suited for product qualification, reliability, stress, fracture and load/deflection tests. The equipment consists of a seat mounting test bed plate, A-frame loading stand with moveable crosshead, and three electrohydraulic actuator loading frames to apply the prescribed loads. Tests are controlled by a TMSI Industrial PC Control System (MicroTeStation), which is interlocked with the electric controls of both the Hydraulic Power Unit and all three actuators for full test automation and data reduction/presentation/archival.

Static Air Bag Deployment
Static Air Bag Deployment System controls the count-down and firing of one or more air bags while acquiring air bag pressure time histories for graphical display, reporting, and archival. Test equipment consists of a computer control MicroTeStation, transducers to sense the pressure, and squib fire electronics to both shape and time-delay the hypercurrent pulses for relative-time firing of multiple air bag hyper sets.
Inflator Tank
Test equipment consists of a computer control MicroTeStation, transducers to sense the pressure, a set of eight thermocouples of 0.001 in. or 0.005 in. diameter wire, depending upon the temperature rise time required, and squib fire electronics to both shape and time delay the current pulses for relative time firing of multiple air bag sets.

FMVSS 201
FMVSS 201 specifies that a mechanical head-form impacting a seat head rest at 15 mph be stopped without exceeding an 80 G acceleration for more than 3 ms. This test equipment consists of a seat mounting test bed plate, A-frame loading stand with moveable crosshead, and three pneumatic actuator "blow-guns" to accelerate the head-forms into the head rests. All electronic control and data acquisition systems provided by TMSI are integrated completely for control by a single PC with Windows® based software for intuitive operation with minimal operator training.
FMVSS 202
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 202 specifies requirements for head restraints to reduce the frequency and severity of neck injury in rear-end and other collisions. This test equipment consists of a seat mounting test bed plate, A-frame loading stand with moveable crosshead, and three dual electrohydraulic actuator loading frames to apply the prescribed loads. In addition to FMVSS 202 testing, the system can perform seat back and seat cushion Load-Deflection Tests in order to measure the stiffness of seat frames and cushions. All electronic control and data acquisition systems provided by TMSI are integrated completely for control by a single PC with Windows® based software for intuitive operation with minimal operator training.

FMVSS 201/202
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 201 specifies the requirements for occupant protection in interior impacts and FMVSS 202 specifies requirements for head restraints to reduce the frequency and severity of neck injury in rear-end and other collisions. Test equipment consists of a seat mounting test bed plate, A-frame loading stand with moveable crosshead, three dual electrohydraulic actuator loading frames, and three electropneumatic actuator loading frames to apply the prescribed loads. All electronic control and data acquisition systems provided by TMSI are integrated completely for control by a single PC with Windows® based software for intuitive operation with minimal operator training.
